Music drifting in modern sounds
clinking glasses as wine was found,
laughter filled the balmy air
the girls looked pretty sitting there.
Delicious smells in smoky night
candles shimmered in dimming light.
Roasted lamb with chopped mint leaves
sweet green salad with feta cheese.
I could almost see and smell everything you described, and I know you missed your dear Hamada. My mother grew up enjoying roasted lamb for Sunday dinner. She has one in our freezer and we may just have to pull it out after reading your post!
Thank you Linda. Living here in the country with sheep often in the next field we do enjoy Lamb and I love it roasted with a clove or two of garlic and a sprig of rosemary pressed into the joint. Then served with mint-sauce quite delicious! I think you should get that one out of the freezer and enjoy. I hope all is well with your family and most importantly you. Hugs.
If I closed my eyes I could be there enjoying your wonderful food. You have such a way with words and this piece is a picture of joy and contentment, your family and friends around you and without a doubt Hamada was there watching over you all….
Lots of love,Karen xxxx
Thank you Karen. I do enjoy writing down little reminders of joyful evenings. I find myself watching all and drinking in the atmosphere of these occasions. I love to hear others laughter and these little ‘throw-away verses’ are a great record for me.
