As I try to read all the latest news regarding articles on Multiple Myeloma from the Mayo Clinic. http://www.mayoclinic.org/ I thought this information might be worth passing on, it sounds at the very least, most interesting – take a look at http://www.mayoclinic.org/news2008-sct/4794.html – the intriguing contents are certainly worth a glance. Then of course discuss with your Specialist . I would be grateful for your comments on this.
The sceptic in me says “one study, on mice? – that proves nothing!” But this is how so much valuable research begins. But I am not sure that consuming coconut will produce the same effects – were the mice injected, and with what loevel of dose? It’s a bit like all the talk about turmeric (curcumin)which sounds great until you find out it contains salicylic acid and therefore can’t be taken in large quantities by people allergic to aspirin. “Natural” medicines can have their dangers too! So… I look forward to hearing what happens next – if they proceed to a clinical trial with humans. Meantime, there’s no harm in adding coconut to my husband’s diet!
Yes, I rather feel that way too! but I shall add a nice Thai Curry and a Chicken Korma to Hamada’s regular diet – he will enjoy that and it can do no harm – and we can hope that from ‘little Acorns, an Oak tree will grow’. Hope your husband is doing well. All Sincere Wishes – Susie
