“Love seeketh not itself to please,
Nor for itself hath any care,
But for another gives its ease,
And builds a Heaven in Hell’s despair.â€
WILLIAM BLAKE (1757-1827)
“Age does not protect you from love
But love to some extent protects you from ageâ€
JEANNE MOREAU b 1929
“Life’s short and we never have enough time
for the hearts of those who travel the way with us.
O,be swift to love! Make haste to be kind.â€
HENRI-FREDERICK AMIEL (1821-1881)
These poets combined with your photos make a lovely message! It’s raining here – again – and cold… Was it Mark Twain who said “If you don’t like the weather, wait a minute…”? Thoughts and prayers go out to you both…
Yes I think these are love quotations with good messages, useful to recall when needed Sandy.
It’s been funny old weather here too in the UK although at last it seems to have settled with some beautifully warm balmy days. Hamada has been enjoying the garden. It is very worrying in the South of France at the moment with terrible flooding and lost of life – how awful for those concerned – I hope it passes quickly.
Lots of love x
Hi,
This one is interesting:
“Love seeketh not itself to please,
Nor for itself hath any care,
But for another gives its ease,
And builds a Heaven in Hell’s despair.â€
Loving all parts of the self can constitute appreciating the great things that life has to offer for oneself.
In regards to building a heaven in hell however, isn’t it such a blessing when you understand that within each seemingly ‘hell’ there is in fact a gift. Within each challenge there is a learning or gift within the challenge that causes you to grow. And that understanding gives you the ability to enjoy and appreciate the ‘not so easy’ times too.
Warmest regards,
