How still this life of ours becomes
this joyous quiet silent scene
this plateau held in time
this tableau captured in a dream,
rest here on this your island
marooned with only me
for peace is all that’s needed
to complete this tranquil dream;
my pilgrim, breath this air
your days are restful now
nothing to weigh more heavy
than my hand upon your brow;
as your friend I stand protective
wishing to clasp this pause,
as your lover I fight your corner
always asking for much more!
suspend this moment fast in time
and navigate all hurt away
this dreamlike state, this voyage this journey,
how still this perfect scene…

I too share my life with a person battling a wretched disease. At times the island we have created is such a peaceful, safe place, nobody can touch us there. Sadness and anger creep ashore now and again, but ultimately we are survivors.
As always, thank you for expressing what I feel, and best to you and Hamada.
Wonderful thoughts, you are a beautiful person inside and out
Jewel
Michael, Thank you for taking the time to comment, as a brave and courageous man you will always be a survivor. Hamada and I so admire the amazing work you undertake daily. I wish you peace and happiness on your ‘Island’
Sincere regards to you both.
Thank you dear Jewel, What a generous thing to say! sending all very good wishes across the pond to you X
I agree with Jewel Susie, Your words are subtle, yet sublime, and lift the psyche to a peacful place where my faith in the good of humanity is restored… You ought to publish and let the world enjoy too.
How very kind are your comments Ken on my humble thoughts and ramblings. What very generous words to write. Thank you. My Sincere Regards Susie
Nice one Mum, one of my favourites so far…
Thank you Matt, It pleases me that this rather calm poem is one of your favourites.
