Silver shimmering crest of light
that shines and glistens on special nights
but only seen by those who love,
for those who notice this moon above
fluorescing glow of softest light
that shines on waves in rolling flight,
this secret candescent light that holds
a special place in lover’s souls,
when the flotsam of life is tearing at you
lift your head and see this view.
When life’s foreboding ways do seek
to sometime knock you off your feet
take your dreams and shake them loose
never stumble for you will see
this shining luminosity of moonlight free,
for on these magic nights of love
that glow for lovers from above
especially for those entwined souls
for secrets between them never told
tilt your head to gaze above
to see this gemlike moon of love…

Amazing how you can teach us all how to love – even when it hurts to hug the one you love. Thanks for the inspiration to love another way.
I love it, especially to remind us I think ,of that we take for granted.
There you go again, amazing me with flawless words and the magical images they produce. How do you do it? I don’t think one can learn this – it must be in the soul. This one sent a tingle up my spine. Thank you for teaching me how important words can be for soothing and healing. With Love, Lora

I remember such a night and such a moon and such a love.
In fact I still have the love.

Thanks, Susie, I needed that.
Thank you so much for all your great comments. It is kind of you to take the time to enter them here.
I loved this poem a lot. And in fact here’s my favourite line:
‘when the flotsam of life is tearing at you
lift your head and see this view.’
I do that every day in the morning. I wake up and think of a different reason to be happy. I’m never short of reasons :-).
Many thanks for such a beautiful offering.
Greetings from London.

Your poem is glowing, how beautiful! Thank you for the words of inspiration. At the moment in Toronto we are surrounded by swine flu and Barry is doing chemo.
So, if the clouds will disappear for a bit, we can look out to see our lover’s moon. =D
